Owner's Manuals and Booklets
« on: May 23, 2012, 13:18:57 »
I am a new owner (1971 280 SL) and trying to detemine what papers/books/manuals came with the car originally - it is a US model.  Is there a list on this site?  Also, I have a tan, three-sided plastic case with a flap for the papers which I assume is original - yes?

Thanks for your help.

This is what came with mine. Pretty sure it is a complete set.

What is that green pamphlet? That front end looks like a 60's Chevy.

It is a DOT 6 page pamphlet that explains the benefits of safe driving (buckle up, don't drink and drive, etc). Nothing specific to Mercedes

Thanks Hank. Your car looked pretty stunning too with it's new bumpers. The wheels looked  great as well. Hope you managed to dodge any "road apples" that might have been left by any occupants of those horse trailers:-)

Just to state the obvious: the manuals and other items varied with the year of the car and some came in the local language of the original sales location.

There were also manuals or folders for some of the options like the AC and the radio including a circuit schematic diagram.

Here's a booklet on how to open and close the soft top.
