67 Twins
« on: June 04, 2012, 02:45:03 »
Finally summer in the frozen north.
I've had a 67 250SL for 17 years.  It is a lovely non restored car that I bought from a commited car nut first owner.
This winter I bought a really nice unrestored 67 250 SE coupe to complement the Pagoda. I have always loved the styling of these big coupes.
In general,  I like the 67's because of the mechanical upgrades over the 230SL/220SE and the lack of sidemarkers that spoiled the looks (in my eyes) of the 68 and on models.
This has not stopped me from wanting a 280SE 3.5 coupe since I saw one for the first time as a 5 year old kid!
The coupe is a really nice driver. I believe cars like this should be driven and I looked to get one that I can actually use.  They seem to be rare in unmolested,  rust free condtion and actually tougher to find than our SL's

Cheers
Ollie

Funny how the G makes even the big coupé look tiny and delicate...
