Heater panel arrows
« on: August 02, 2012, 00:21:12 »
Hi,

Does anyone have a source of the red, blue and black plastic arrows from the heater control panel on the dash?

Cheers

George, I noticed that you have a 230SL - the 230SL's and the early 250SL's didn't have that arrow.

That is news to me - see photo of my 230SL.
Unless you mean a different arrow.

Sorry  ::)  Should have read the post more closely!

I thought you were refering to the 'defrost' indicator that's shown in photo.  That's the one that's not on the 230SL or early 250SL.

I think the defrost label is also an American only item as I have not seen it on any here.

Garry and Doug,
that is correct. The 230SL and early 250SL do not show the word "defrost" but they do have the upward black arrow.
The non-USA late 250SL/280SL cars have the black upward arrow but no "DEFROST" sign, just like the 230SL, and also no "defrost" on the blower knob, only a blue arrow.

My very early 280SL has the defrost sign, the black arrow and a defrost knob with the word defrost and the blue arc.

Hi Ray,
is it a USA spec car? If so then it is correct.

I don't know about the black arrows but the red and blue pointers are available. I usually have a few around for other cars.
