I have a Parrot MKi9100 in my other cars, so I have now “Parrotted the Pagoda”
Hopefully not with a Norwegian Blue (for Monty Python Fans !)
The kit is a Voice activated Bluetooth Hands free Phone system, and also enables the playing of Music using an Ipod / USB stick / or Smart phone.
My car has an original Blaupunkt Mono Frankfurt Radio with two Front speakers without a central speaker, this installation enables these to remain un molested, and used normally.
I use the Phone and USB functions, these play through the original car speakers, and automatically mute the radio when in use.I can thus have all my own music on the USB stick, without the expense and disfiguration of a modern sound system.
The installation was quite straightforward, and obviously you follow any of this information at your own risk, and some degree of electrical knowledge is required.
(disconnect the battery before starting work)
The Kit is designed to easily interface the Parrot Blue Box with standard ISO connectors -
D-Car Power, X- Radio Power, Y- Radio Speaker, E - Car Speaker
Obviously some modification is needed for the Pagoda.
Cut off the Orange, Red and Black wires from the D & X Harness, ensuring that the fuses remain intact and connected to the Parrot Multiconnector block. D & X can be discarded.
Harness E & Y concern the speakers, only the Gray and White Pairs will be used here.
My Radio is powered by a Permanent Live, this I changed to an Ignition Switched Live.
Disconnect the Speakers from the Radio and rewire as per the diagram.
Basically Connect the Parrot Multiconnector to the Blue Box and as follows
Connect the Orange Fuse Wire to a !2v Ignition Switched Live
Connect the Red Fuse Wire to a 12v Permanent Live
Connect the Black wire to Earth
Connect Connector Y as follows to the Radio connections
Right > Gray + Radio (Speaker), Gray/Black Tracer, - Radio (Speaker)
Left > White + Radio (Speaker), White/Black Tracer, - Radio (Speaker)
Connect E Connector as follows to the car speaker connections
Gray + Right Speaker, Gray/Black Tracer, - Right Speaker
White + Left Speaker, Gray/Black Tracer, - Left Speaker
Attach the Microphone, Display, and Accessory Cable as per normal Parrot instructions.
I made a box to house the blue Box on the transmission tunnel, put the display on the box and the microphones to the side of the heater levers,
