To all what is the last step in order to get the ignition switch to release from the steering column?   I have removed the 6 mm bolt holding the clamp and it still will not release is there something I am missing?    69 280 sl

Look for the hidden pin near the clamp.  Turn the key to the first position then depress the hidden pin and it should release.

Thanks for the help!!!!  Found the pin pushed and turned to position one switch came out.  What a job, got switch out cleaned and put back in not working properly but at least it will start from the inside the car without hot wiring coil.   ordered new switch today will update when it comes in.   A work in progress.
