Good day for a drive
« on: November 05, 2012, 00:04:06 »
It was a lovely fall day here in the foothills so we took a drive out to see some fall foliage. Not much at our house but thought I would post a photo anyway. Not sure
how many more nice days we will have so we try and take advantage when we can. Our car is always happy to oblige :)

PS It looks like we need to clean the Lens on my wife's iPhone. Sorry for the blurry picture.

Hey, you have one very nicely colored tree in the shot! Glad to see you keep the car out and about.

John, yes Sunday was a beautiful day, as was today.  If only I could package this weather up and take it home in my suitcase.  Lovely shot.

For me, each day is a perfect day to drive my Pagoda. Unfortunately, the weather maker up there is not always cooperating :D :D :D

Yes 49er, we sure are blessed with this nice stretch of Fall weather here in the Sierra Nevada foothills. So pretty with the pines and the maples all mixed together. Today, I took a drive -- excuse was to vote -- but I really just wanted to take a spin!

Enjoy it while we can... as its supposed to turn very cool and (even snowy?) this weekend...

Another white car out for a fall spin.  This was at lunch today.

Found a spot to stop on the side of the road and the car looked so good I just had to snap a photo.

Nice photo of you car Ian. I am partial to white too:-) I think these cars look best photographed from a low angle such as yours. We managed to get in a short drive this past Sunday (picture attached). Temps were in the low 60s (16s c) and the navigator was bundled up and the heater on full blast. Soft top up now and the car is covered up in the garage. Heavy storms expected in our part of the country from now through the week end so probably not too many more top down drives this year.

My last drive for the season was a spirited high speed drive on Monday November 26th to get Anthracite all warmed up and exercised before putting her away for the winter. After the drive the winter 15" Blizzak snow tires were installed along with a couple of pics.

She is running just right.

I got the run in just in time as there was between 2 to 3 inches of snow on Tuesday  :)

Regards,

Hey 280SE guy, your message has me confused - why would you put Blizzaks on a car that you were going to put away for the winter.  I would only put Blizzaks on a car I intended to drive on the ice.   Love those tires.

If 280SE Guy is like me, my car does not see rain, sleet or snow BUT, I do drive it in the winter (Cincinnati, Ohio) when the roads are salt free and dry. I struggle with "putting my car away for the winter". There are numerous days where I can get the car out for a few hours over the winter. These days coincide with the days I can play golf. Maybe I live far enough South (with global warming  :D) where driving the Pagoda and golfing can happen!

With the car sitting in the garage for close to 5 months during the winter I don't want her to sit on her Michelin tires and develop flat spots. I got the Blizzaks a couple of years ago (after I bought the new Michelins) from a friend who gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. The Blizzaks are out of their "use date stamp" but are perfect for just sitting.

Thanks,
