Touch up paint
« on: July 11, 2004, 17:45:34 »
I have just ordered some touch up paint for my '69 280sl. This company www.paintscratch.com seems to handle all makes, years and colors. The paint I ordered is in the form of a pen. Also available in cans and bottles. I will leave an update once I have tried it.

I have used these folks as well. I ordered a 2 oz bottle of paint and a 2 oz bottle of primer. I have used this and the match was spot on.

Yes, I have used Paintscratch for 2 cars that have been repainted- always a bit different from the original- & fount they match very well. metallics will be more of a problem in matching. But, to my knowledge, there is no perfect touch up paint/ technique that renders perfect result. Anybody know of such?      -JP-

Scott Grundfor a 300sl restorer has a technique for repairing chips.

www.scottgrundfor.com  Look for "ideas for collectors" and read about his method for repairing chips.

I have my matching paintscratch vials and also purchased Langka but have yet to introduce the process  There should be archives on this product.
