Stan, many videos published today are actually hosted on Youtube, and "embedded" into another's website.  To get a quick link, you just need to get to the actual YouTube link, non-embedded (a quick search by title usually does the trick) and then somewhere below the video screen you get a SHARE link, which provides the condensed URL.  It took me longer to write these sentences than to actually do it!!
