Not original, though a lot of our cars got them as stereo tape players began to enter the market starting in the late '60s. The only original speaker is the one atop the dashboard. The rear shelf is the most logical location for stereo speakers. My car had them and an old 8-track! When I redid the interior, I installed new speakers, added an amplifier under the shelf and an ipod connection coming out of the ash tray. I'm willing to sacrifice some originality for good, clear music on the road.
