Nbr 2 Fuse Cap and holder
« on: April 08, 2013, 19:29:20 »
Hi All,

It's been a long time since I've been on the site: Moved to Asia and haven't been in country in several years. My car has lovingly been stored/lightly driven to keep her in shape.

Well I'm on a bit of road trip and just blew the nbr 2 fuse (25A) that has the cap on the fuse holder. Is there an easy to remove that cap? I picked up some 25A fuses that are supposed to fit (if that cap isn't there).

Thanks,
Nik

Hello Nik,

The spacer cap is rivited in place. Not easy to remove. The little short fuses are available but hard to find.  The spacer would have to be drilled off to accept the longer fuse.

Hi Joe, We met years ago at your place. Thanks!

I saw that rivet and was hoping that there was something I was missing.

Am I better off removing that cap for the long-term? Or are people just storing up the old fuses for future use?

Best,
Nik

The short fuses are readily available still in Australia.  Have they gone out of production inUSA?

Call Buds Benz (800-942 8444) and ask David to sell you a few.
If he is out of them let me know, I have a few spares.

I'll have you sorted out today in no time at all. I haven't seen your car in quite a while but I remember it being a nice example.

Hello Nik,

Yes, I remember meeting you also, probably PUB 09, or PUB 11 ?

Might be easiest to search up some of those short fuses. However, in an emergency you could drill out the rivet holding the spacer in so you could use the long fuse. It could be repaired later.
