new retro radio?
« on: April 22, 2013, 16:13:41 »
I just came across this and am considering ordering it.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/200863417707?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649  Does anyone have any experience with it?

Funny that I see your post today, as I am just installing a "Model 2" RetroSound at the moment.

I ordered an all chrome version with the "Becker" pinstripe pebbles and knobs.

I have removed the original Blaupunkt "Pinstripe" radio from my car,
and can maybe use the pinstripe face plate as a template to fit on the
RetroSound depending on how I think their pebble pinstripes look.

I will post some information when I have completed the installation.

I got that authentic look by...
Leaving the original radio in and fitting a Parrot Bluetooth kit in the car which includes a iPod/Bluetooth audio/USB input. It syncs to my Samsung Galaxy s3 which has a radio player app and a mp3 app.

All the music I want, plus radio plus hands free telephone...plus an original radio on the dash.

Markbhai..

Yes, I Parroted my Pagoda last year, and it works brilliantly, and is integrated with the original
Blaupunkpt Pinstripe radio, I love the Voice Activated Phone Book features.
However the Blaupunkt is  "mono" and although I have 4 speakers in the car, the radio performance
was not too good - being 45 years old, hence I bought the  RetroSound .

The RetroSound installation is quite easy, as it utilises the  "ISO" connectors like the Parrot, so after removal
of the Blaupunkt, the new Radio just plugs into the Parrot connectors.

I hope to finish the installation tomorrow - so will let you (Gerry) know then.

Keep well

I Installed a Parrot Mki9100 last year, it is written up under "Parrotting my Pagoda" in the Electrical section.

Here are some interim pictures of the RetroSound Model 2, with my removed Blaupunkt, and

the rear support I have fabricated.
I hope to complete the installation by the weekend.

Keep well
