It is often reported in this forum that 7 out of every 10 cars have the trunk seal incorrectly fitted, and my car was no exception. Mine is upside down, which traps water and leads to corrosion. See picture.
I have never seen one properly installed so hoping for some help.
I believe it should be installed with the vertical edge glued to the trunk or inner edge of the channel with the top or “flap” facing outwards. Is this correct?
How far down into the channel should it be installed?
There is a distinct ridge on the inner edge of the seal, as can be seen in the picture. Is this a guide for correct to installation?
