Has anybody had trouble bleeding the brakes?  What are the dangers of having put synthetic brake fluid in 230SL?
NOTE: I have used SBF in the system.

As far as I know the only restrictions (or not recommended) for the use of synthetic fluid is if the vehicle is equipped with ABS. Since our Pagodas don’t have ABS  :) :) the use of synthetic fluid is no problem and your calipers will (almost) never rust. Important is that you drain your entire brake system off of the old fluid before using the synthetic. I rebuild my complete brake system this winter. That included the calipers, master cylinder and hoses. I then filled it with synthetic fluid with very good results.
I never had trouble bleeding the brakes. When I do not have a helper, I use a vacuum pump with a reservoir. If I have a helper, (which in my case is my wife :-*) I go for the old method of pedal pumping etc. because it is quicker, especially if the whole system is empty, and certainly more fun.
Hope this helps, Urban
