World record for a project car ?
« on: July 09, 2013, 18:18:04 »
Just picked up my copy of classic car buyer, the auction at Anglia car auctions on the 22 June sold a 1970 Pagoda SL
project car for £81,900.When the car came under the hammer there were eight phone bidders including three in Australia as well as numerous commission
bids and several heavy hitters in the hall. The car has been stood unused in a garage of a private house in Essex  for 30 years it had covered 39k miles from new.
Experts ;D say the car needs £20,000-£60,000 to get it back in shape. It is to join a private collection in the UK.Take Care. Mike.

Hell, I'd be happy just getting the commission to sell it. In fact, I'd be happy to ever get the commission on the cars that I've already sold but never collected on..........

I think there are cars in better shape on the market for much less. I saw quite a few in German car magazines that are for sale.

I drove my car as part of the evaluation I did then paid the asking price.

I would not bid on a car via auction unless it was Barrett Jackson auto auctions and I had someone at the auction like the Benz Dr to make a call as to when to stop bidding :)

Don't forget that RHD makes it a bit more rare. Still a lot of money :-\
