Oz, thanks for the compliment. I took the photograph using my iPhone as I just happened to see that sky whilst driving. I did not have a proper camera with me. I took an HDR (High Dynamic Range) picture. Look that up if you have an iPhone and don't know what that is. I then used Snapseed (a great photo editing app for iPhone and iPad) to lighten up the ground and side of the car until the wheels were just visible.... So it did take a little editing.
But I appreciate that you saw that that was indeed what makes it into a better shot than just a blacked-out foreground.
With hindsight I wished the tree behind the windscreen had not been there, but there was only one small parking bay along the road, and I couldn't really avoid it...
