Hello Jon,

The picture came off the internet with no expaination. The tags on the two cars seem to be European. 
The VW has the latter series bumpers.  The hardtop on the 300SL would go for about 30K alone these days.

Yes hard to beleive anyone would so desperate.

Looks like he could use a Boge hydrocompensator for his rear axle :D. Too bad they weren't available for that car.

It's a german license plate and it looks like OF at the beginning, which means Offenbach near Frankfurt.
