Pagoda values

I have noticed the increased chatter about Pagoda values since a while. It reminds me of talk of house values in the nineties.
Surely the point of all this is that values are pretty irrelevant to a Pagoda fan and member of this Forum, because whatever inflated value the car assumes, you would have to pay the same or more to replace it. Therefore the only one interested in the value is the reseller who does not have long term plans for the car.
Personally I would prefer that my own car was valued like an Austin Allegro which would get me cheaper insurance and less concern of theft.

...... back to the subject. As prices rise so does the cost of running our cars and worse there will be always someone happy to take them without our permission, which can lead to our cars being used less and less.

All the time I am custodian of my cay I would like prices to be stable.  Having said whenever there is a big bill looming its easier to convince SWMBO on the basis that "its an investment" or "we will get our money back when we sell".

I am with you Peter,

Whilst I am the custodian of my 230SL, I would like the prices to be stable so that the cost of keeping it remains within reason.  Have a look at the cost of 300sl parts and you will see that unless you are extremely wealthy you could not afford to have any problems with one.

But as you said value increase also justifies to the Minister of Finance that it is a worthwhile investment.  Damed if they do rise, damed if they don't.
