I hope this is not considered a hi-jack of pmjkhj `s thread. I percieve that the original question was answered. If I`m wrong, please chastise me and delete the post. I`ll start a fresh thread.
I made a mistake (not my first one at age 68). It`s true that one of my door hinges has a grease fitting missing, but the others that I thought were plugged actually have (or had) metric flush type Zerk fittings, as apparently they are supposed to have.
On closer inspection, what I was sure were plugs are really grease fittings, however, in trying to remove one to confirm the thread size, it immediately broke with almost no effort. It appears to be completely dry inside and probably the threads are rusted into the hole in the hinge. Apparently I'm not the only owner of this car that didn't look closely enough to see that they were grease fittings. Now I have to take off the hinge to use an easy-out on the fitting. To be safe, I'll change them all whether they break or not. The fittings are apparently part number A0009970488 and are widely used on many Mercedes models.
I will bite the MB Canada bullet and go to the local MB dealer (no discounts) to order four new ones - from Germany probably. I suppose it`s still better than paying 10 times their price to UPS for shipping and brokerage fees. After all, all together they must weigh at least an ounce and would fit in a tiny matchbox. I hope at least that they're CAD plated.
AND !!!, believe it or not, I found the Oregon Cutting Systems #26365 grease gun at my local Canadian Tire store for $8.99.
Thanks for the great information and education regarding Pagoda door hinge lubrication.
