Console Box placemnet

When I got my '63 230SL there was no console box between the seats. The old replacement carpet was put down over the two brackets. Could someone give me a measurement - say from back edge of the box to the front edge of the rear cross member.

Hi Paul,

The distance from the outside edge box rear to the rear screw is 4 3/4 inches.  There is about 1/2 clearance between the rear of the box and the front edge of the removable covers behind the seats.
