My excellent Mechanic, cannot say enough good things about him recently replace a 280SL transmission, his MB contact stated to use Ford Transmission fluid FA due to the recent? MB bulletin (Bulletin number I do not have). On his advice and preventive maintenance I am scheduled to flush to tranny, replace the filter and we are going to change to the Ford FA ATF fluid.
Anyone else heard of this ATF fluid change, or the MB Bulletin which is directed to antique MB's?
Just passing some info along, not sure if it is 100% correct, going to search for MB bulletins that state the recommend change
