Mark,

These are switches used for the emission controls that are used in the North American market.

Thanks Jack,

have removed the switches but the connectors are still in place under the car.

I  would like to remove the wiring loom as well .so a Diagram witch refers to these switches would be handy....

Do you have this diagram or do You know where tp find?

Hi Mark,

The information you seek is on the MB CD.  Its a little hard to find.

If you can't find it or don't have the CD send me an email at jclute2012@gmail.com and I'll mail it to you.

Jeff

Mark,

The diagram is in the big blue book but I currently am not able to attach. If you do not get this by the weekend I will scan and attach.

These switches are only found on standard trans cars. There's a switch for fourth gear and one for third gear. When you're coasting down hill, or from a higher speed, they will turn the injection pump to the off position. The reverse light switch is on a seperate harness.

Mark,

The diagram for the 280SL manual transmission emissions is on page 00-78/3 of the BBB.
