Engine Bay Decals

Hi,
 I just had my early (April) 1967 250SL restored and I want to attach decals in the appropriate positions (under the hood) and was hoping that someone knew where I could find pictures of a properly decaled engine and bay that could be used as a guide.

Hi Jim,
Slihtly off-the-topic but my 250SL is from 1967, April the 26-th. Chassis number is 1542.
From which day of April is yours ? Maybe neighbours from production line ?

Here is a photo taken soon after delivery of my 250SL engine bay which might be of help (May delivery '67, California car, 113043-10-001133).  Dealer put on the Castrol sticker.

My 250SL is chassis 1513 made 13th April 1967.
Delivered new in the UK, spent most of its life in Michigan and now resided in Western Australia. A well travelled little girl.

Thanks for your comments and the picture is of great value to me -please post more if you have them! I am expecting a catalog from Bob Geco next week which I hope will be helpful with decals/placement but I do not remember how to determine my Pagoda's birthdate. Does anyone have the time to explain to me how to do that?

Jim,
if you know your VIN then it is easy.  Just look at this table here and then you can determine the month when it was built:

Just remember it is: Last 6 digits of serial number of the last W113 vehicle produced in the month listed

Jim, you can read the birth day of yours from Data Card (if available). If, not just write the last 6 digits of the VIN.
jedwards, coo l- our cars had to be made in the next two days. The difference in the numbers is only 49. In whole month (April 67) manufactured 486 cars. April was relatively short month (20 working days), so on average daily were produced 24-25 (young then) girls.
Another issue is, when the cars passed the factory gate. Regarding to chassis number your should be assembled 06 April 1967 and left the factory 13-th April (so after a week - it makes sense). My lady probably has been assembled 08 April and has been dispatched 26-th April (after 18 days !). Why she remained so long in the factory, as the place of first delivery was neighboring Munich? It's a good stuff for next unit of The X-files movie.. might disturb the aliens?!?

My VIN ends in 000537 which I interpret as early February; this surprises me as the original owner that sold it to me roughly ten years ago told me it was made in April. Learn something new everyday.
