The 2014 edition of the famous Rallye Monte Carlo Historique started yesterday to rich the Principality one week later. A bit more than 300 competitors converge to Monte Carlo (Monaco) for the final race and the highly appreciated and valued Award Ceremony Gala will be held on Wednesday, January 29th in the Salle des Etoiles of the Monte Carlo Sporting Club.
The event is open to cars having participated in the Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo between 1955 and 1980 (sadly Pagodas never did). In fact, Mercedes never graced this rallye with too may of their cars.
Nevertheless, this year six Mercedes cars (1 MB 280CE, 1 280E, the others being 220SE and 300SE) participate in the race, and after the first part one team on 280E is doing quite well (6th position so far). Sadly, about 60 teams have already abandoned mostly due to mechanical problems.
Pawel, owner of 2 Pagodas and many other vintage cars, competes on Polski Fiat 125p, so I follow the rallye closely
