Wow! Sicily is certainly a long way! It must have been a fantastic trip! I rode on my motorbike a couple of times to Brindisi to catch the Ferry on my way to Greece and Turkey. Each time, I was struck by how long a journey it was. I also drove my DS from Paris to Rome the year when they did the Citroen gathering there. It was also a long trip. Fortunately we stopped over in Cinque Terre and then in Tuscany to cut the trip. Italy is a very long country! I like it very much though. We lived in Rome when I was a kid, and I consider Italy home a little bit. Who knows, I may end up going back living there one day.
100.000 miles in a Pagoda is quite a performance. I'm sure you must be very sad selling it.
Flyair: Yes St Chinian is just a little bit north of where I was working. A friend of mine was a wine maker and got me a job several years in a row during grape harvest period while I was still a student. When I was even younger my first paid job was grape harvesting, I was around 12 or 13. Not very legal as by then age limit was 16. Anyway, this is how I managed to pay for my first "mobylette", also before the legal age of 14.
