correct finish for engine parts
« on: April 05, 2014, 12:21:53 »
All,  I am looking to have the correct finish on my engine parts during rebuild.  Is there a special paint for the inlet manifold and other parts of the same color on the engine?   I know to try and find cad plating for the fuel and coolant lines. The other question is can the fuel filter, oil filter, canisters and valve cover get painted or polished?   Thanks for all the help.  69 280sl

Here is a picture of my engine taken when the car was 6 months old. Oil filter and gas filter canisters are not polished and neither is the valve cover. Inlet manifold is unpainted. Exhaust manifold is painted a medium grey

Thanks John  great reference!!!!!   Does anyone know of a good cleaner to enhance the look of the intake manifold and other grey colored parts?
