I am looking to rechrome the three chrome pieces around the heater levers and the strip above the glove box.
I have some very high bids but more so many shops informing me of the dangers of loosing the pattern design. Has any one rechromed these?
Do you know what they are made out of?

Hello Mike,

Yes these can be rechromed. No good chrome is inexpensive. Done properly you will not lose the pattern. All of my interior chrome was redone, and I think it was done very nicely.
My interior chrome was done mostly by Graves Plating in Alabama http://gravesplating.com because the restorer had experience with them.
I believe that the interior chrome is zinc; surely the fresh air vents on either side are, so I suspect the parts that connect them are too.
Graves isn't the only one that will do this properly, but surely you can find a decorative show-chrome plater that will gently handle your parts.
