Our Polish section was invited this year to expose our cars at the 4th AutoNostalgia motor show in Warsaw. We had a stand with 8 cars including four 230s, one 250 and three 280s. Our stand was very popular and we had loads of visitors willing to look, chat and enjoy the ambiance of this outstanding event.

The originality of our place consisted in the fact that we had very well sorted cars, except for one that was in a pre-restoration state, and which we "decorated" with dirt, dust, pieces of straw and leaves. We also arranged the cars in an attractive, colour-contrasting way. In the boot/trunk of one of them we installed a TV screen and projected all the thine around videos arranged by Artur (forum member), mostly those he already posted in his thread.

Tired, but pleased with the effect, we were surprised at the end of the event by the organisers, who award us 1st prize for the most attractive stand. This came as a true astonishment, as we were not even aware that stands are rated. Moreover, there were professionally run stands by producers, including Mercedes, Porsche, Lancia, Citroen, etc, etc.

Thousands of photos were taken, but let me show here the first four that I could find

Wow the Green is outstanding to my eyes.!  MB might want to use that in a Christmas commercial next to a new red one.  It would be an interesting beauty contest.

R-D
you couldn't be more right: sweet it was :)

The candies (500 of them!) were produced under the supervision of Aligator. The little story is that they were supposed to be offered to children visiting our stand. On the first day (out of three) we realised that we could be short on candies, as nearly half of them were gone. Then we understood the reason: it was the so called self-consumption amongst us that devastated the stock... once we became reasonable again, they were amply enough :)

I fact we run a contest asking children first, what color among the 8 cars exposed they like the most. Upon response they were able to pick up the candy with the photo of that very car...

BTW: The images on them represent actual cars of our members including the one of yours truly, as evidenced on the images below.

Gary,

Interestingly enough, colour preference were one of the main topics mentioned by visitors. You would be amazed however which color was the most popular....

Encouraged by the popular demand, here are some more photos from the AutoNostalgia motor show.

As mentioned before, we put a screen in the boot of Aligator's car with Pagoda related videos made by Artur (photo number 3)

It was also an attraction point gathering many people that were willing to watch the venerable Pagodas

one more thing I forgot to mention...
Friday was the media day, followed by a party for participants and journalists.

We all had a good time, with very decent food and drinks (à volonté as they say) and live orchestra with two singers performing well known, mostly vintage standards.

At some point in time, our stand gave a good example and started to dance for the rest of the evening. Suffice it to say that after we left (well into the night), the next morning public opening was quite difficult for some of us ;)

Nice , cars look great , congratulations Stan and your Polish friends.

Something else....

Assuming that it's you Stan, whats that Birkin bag doing on your arm? is that a part of the Nostalgia feeling or was it due to the "a volonté" drinks ? I hope you returned it the the rightful owner because it's a pretty expensive one.  ;)

Pascal,

The specific scene you referred to was one of many that resulted for heavy celebration on Friday evening.

However you made a wrong assumption as to the person. It wasn't me (I was taking the picture), but Pawel, one of our colleagues.

Besides, I am devastated by your gender specific remark... Some of the Forum members may feel that we are a bunch of chauvinistic "retardés" :).
You should be now following the gender rules' recommendations and get one of those bags for yourself ;D

Hi Stan,

I figured that was the case, sorry I mixed you up with Pawel. Actually it would have been nice to know who's who in the group picture.

As for my "expertise" I can tell you that my sweetheart educated me very well about her favorite bags and that purchase has been done already. She even got me so far that I arranged a factory visit for her at Delvaux and she was impressed so I think I did my duties already  :D, but you made me laugh out loud.

Back to the cars before our fellow forum members think we are a bunch of chauvinistic "retardés", I like that dark grey pagoda, do you know the color code ?

Pascal,

As for the names: most welcome

On the photo number 1: from left to right there are: Michal (aka Samamer), Marcin (aka Aligator), Artur (aka Artur), Pawel, Krzysztof (producer of Pagoda parts as described elsewhere), and yours truly, i.e. Stan (aka Flyair).

On the second photo: here is the dark grey car (during the Willingen event in 2013). The paint code is 172 G metallic anthracite grey. It was offered by Mercedes throughout the entire years of production...

I cannot compliment you enough for your choice of your preferred Pagoda. You have demonstrated very fine taste and made an excellent choice!!! Why I am so superlative about it? The answer is very easy: This particular Pagoda is mine ;D ;D ;D
