Attaching Euro headlight lens clips
« on: June 03, 2014, 10:37:53 »
What is the correct procedure for attching the Euro headlight lens to the base?  The clips seem to be very difficult to attach.  Advice is appreciated.

What I do is, with some sturdy pliers, pull the clips to extend / stretch them and then flick them over the glass. After you've done a few, it's quite easy that way. The pliers grab the sides of the tops of the clips so the clips can be flipped over the glass, if that makes sense. Probably there are other ways, but this works for me.

As someone who has chipped some glass before, what I do is put clip through the metal holder, let it rest on outside metal ridge, then put clip fully on the glass, should be moderately tight, then with help of a strong individual and a small screwdriver (using the round part, not the tip) have your helper squeeze the glass and metal frame together and using the screwdriver pull the clip from the outside metal ridge to the inside metal ridge, tough but can be done and using your finger push on clip as you pull small screwdriver out and should seat on inside ridge.  Do opposite sides and up and down otherwise the glass will get off on one side and you will never get other side to latch.  Sorry I will post some pix in next couple of days.
