Maybe the administrator can move this to the thread
First, regarding the proper engine, I would think the engine that the factory records show was in the car during PF's showing of it or the chassis was shipped from Germany is the only proper engine because to show the car as customized by Mr, Springer would only be appropriate if you had a display along the lines of "The Cars of Axel Springer"
If we go by what individual owners do to their cars, judges at Pebble Beach ,etc wouldn't know what was "right"
Regarding the owner chain, for an article I can post here or in any magazine that will take it I am only interested in the early owners ,wondering is there any ads in Road % Track etc.giving a hint of what it was bought or sold for in its early years?
Here's the early owners:
Pininfarina
A. Springer
Mrs, Springer (after Axel's deathMaybe it was )
Unkown owner in Monaco
Joe Morell Palm Springs
Maybe it was Mrs. Rosemarie Springer who owned it in Monaco
Tom Tjaarda wrote a recent article about the car in a British magazine, not sure if it was Octane or one of the other two devoted to old cars
