Seized Idler Pulley!
« on: September 05, 2004, 02:23:39 »
Well, I had a nasty surprise today.  Leaving Sf, my idler pulley seized up!  Has anyone else experienced this also, and is idler setup necessary if my A/C has been removed?  I guess if so, I need to buy a new idler pulley, hopefully, they are still available!

If I remember correctly there are two standard ball bearings inside the pulley. I took them out and got new ones from a local store without even have to order them since they where standard size bearings. It was a very quick and easy job too.

Almost every bearing in the car is available through a local brearing dealer. Some of them like the RT rear wheel bearing are not easily obtained but most can be special ordered for next day delivery.
Internal engine bearings are not in this list - they're propietary.
