John Hassle's XR 700 write up

Hello, I am new to the site. I am having trouble installing my XR700. Can you tell me where to get John Hassle's write up.

Welcome to the group Lew.  Send me an email address and I'll mail you the write up.  I installed the Crane system last year in my 1970 280SL.  What's the problem?  Maybe I can help.

Thanks for the fast response.

After install I have no spark. The only thing I did to the system is disconnected the ignition box under the battery like the instructions stated. Doing this there is no power to #15 at the coil. Tried a jumper at the harness and still no luck.

Hi Lew,

Do you have +12 V from the ignition switch connected to the .6 ohm balast resistor? Do you have a connection from #15 coil terminal to the other side of this ballast resistor?

Yes on the first question. #15 goes to the terminal block. I sent you the address.. let me know if you did not get it. :)
