FIP "Overflow" (Bypass) Valve - where is it?

My '69 280SL has a R20Y FIP using the short fuel pump.
I want to check to see if the overflow (bypass) valve in the FIP has a "vapor" hole in it or not, in order to determine whether or not to hook up a bypass line.
Where is that valve? Is it where the hose from the damper connects to the FIP outlet?

FYI, I spoke with Hans at H&R Fuel Injection. He has a great deal of experience working on our FIPs.
The overflow/bypass valve is fitted between the outflow port of the FIP and the hose to the damper. The bypass valve on my R20Y pump does have a vapor orifice.
