All jokes aside I wonder what a VIN and useable Chassis would be worth? In a RHD you would still pay handsomely I suspect.
I would guess it matters greatly by laws, rules and jurisdiction...in some places you probably cannot willy-nilly "swap" VINs from one chassis to another, but in others I suppose there is a policy and procedure to do so.
In this particular case, that's a handsome price for scrap metal and a VIN if it is legitimate, and there is a title. Also, in the USA we have (in some states) what is called a "Salvage Title" and that poses other issues when the car is no longer "Salvage" but licensed and on the road!
There are many drivable cars, some older 230s for example, that can be had in the $20k-$30k range, fully legitimate. On that piece of &^%$ for sale for $14,500, just getting some of the trim and interior, maybe the bonnet and a grill will take you way above that and you still have that little issue of an engine. Oh, the tires don't look THAT bad though...
