Had trouble getting the 230SL valve cover off to adjust the valves.  Would not clear the hood/bonnett latch.  Motor mounts/tranny mounts/??
Lift the tranny(manual)?? a smidgen?

Once you get the cover off it would be a good time to clean it up and give it a fresh look. :)

Over the years I have noticed the relationship between a clean, polished valve cover and the purr of the ohv straight six.  A 'good' valve cover is almost as welcome as a well adjusted ins and outs.

Ya!
I would say lifting the tranny a smidgen would clear the bonnet lock.
May be time for a new mount??
