This was the first rally organized by Classic Automobile Club and sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Turkey. 2 more rallies to follow.  My 1965 230 SL is in the photo.

Hello Yuksel-

You have a really nice car - love the red.

A question: what brand are the fog lights? Did you add them?

Hi Yuksel. welcome to the forum!

Your car looks like the Böhringer's Pagoda in the Sophia-Liege Rally. Very nice indeed.

How strong is the Pagoda community in Turkey?

Hi Mark,

Thank you so much.

I own this car since 1973 and I was the second owner. The fog lights are Hella from Germany and they were already on.

Cheers.

Hello,
Thank you.
Good comparison. I didn't know Böhringer's car was a red one and had got fog lights like mine.
There isn't a separate pagoda club that I know of. There are only 10-15 pagodas in the classic automobile club which I'm a member of in Istanbul. There may be couple more in Ankara as well.
Greetings..

You can see his car in our Club's logo. Otherwise the car is alive an looks as shown below;
1. Our logo
2. The Sophia Liege Pagoda represented by an artist (now I can see where the logo was derived from. Or is it the other way around ??? :))
3. Eugen Boehringer reading Pagoda World, our Club's publicaton
4. Pagoda Rallye today. His owner claims that it is a genuine one

BTW: 10-15 Pagodas is not bad for one city (although not small :))

Looks great.
I've recently acquired a 280 in the UK. Got it MOT'ed [road worthy] but needs respray and complete interior upholstery. Spoke with a few guys recently who have suggested that it would be worth my while bringing the car to Turkey - rather than paying a premium in England. Do you have any views about this?
