Seems like yesterday when I first spoke to Joe. That was back in 1980 when I was restoring my first 190SL, a
very rusty car. Here's part of our conversation.
Joe A: '' I have better parts cars than this.''
Me: '' Yeah, I guess so. ''
Joe: '' It's really rusty but I think we can fix it.''
Me: '' Oh, good! ''
Joe: '' I don't want you to think I have you over a barrel. I figure $2,500.00 to do it. ''
Me: '' OK. ''
At that time there was almost no one working on these cars. People scoffed at them for any number of reasons but I wanted it done so Joe put it back together for me. I drove it until 1997 then I sold it.
Joe has always been a friend of mine since then; some 35 years. I've learned a lot from him and he makes even complicated things easy enough to understand with his common sense approach to repairs. He knows how to use the KISS method.
Hats off to you Joe. Hope all is well with you and Mary and we will see you again soon. Happpy Birthday buddy.
