Clutch sticking
« on: May 27, 2015, 11:01:54 »
Hi, was wondering if someone might have an idea on a clutch problem im having.
At least 50% on completely depressing the clutch the pedal does not come back up.

All pipe work and master and slave cylinder are new.  Im thinking it could be something to do with the spring in the pedal cluster.
Its probably unrelated but the clutch has a really late bite point.

 ???

You may have air in the system yet. Also check the length of the rod coming from the slave cylinder to the transmission. It should be adjusted to around 3mm free-play.

Hi, Kay,

In my case, the master cylinder seals were worn out.

Once I renewed the seals, all is fine now.

Thanks guys I will take a good look over the weekend and update the post with the prognosis.  I'll give it a bleed first, change the spring and then go about looking at the seals.

A garage changed the spring last week and made a few other minor adjustments within the cluster iself itself.  Its not perfect but the clutch lifts right up and the bite point seems a bit lower .  The guys said the spring was now NLA so they used a different but similar spring.
So once again happy.

It would be interesting to know what spring you are referring to and what adjustments were made to what.
