big round nut

I had a mechanic friend of mine replace the seals in the steering box on my '67 230SL. He did not have the torque specs and the unit is very tight. I am going to have to remove it and torque everything. Does the big round nut shown in the tech form torquing instructions really need to be removed to set the adjusting screw?. Where would one find the tool to do this? I can probably get it out with needle nose pliers but I have needed a tool like that a couple times in the past. What is the proper name for this tool?

You can make your own tool for that particular job, I used the tool that you use to change abrasive disc on an angle grinder, cut off one peg, make another peg to suit, re-drill the hole in the handle and fit the new peg, tack weld into position.
