Dress attire is so funny. And so generational. And just plain strange.
The "occasion" is there to serve you, not the other way around. I won't be there unfortunately, but if I were there I would be wearing black Levi's 501s with black Reebok walking shoes and some sort of nice long sleeve Façonnable shirt. Because that's how I like to dress. And the shoes are more about "they don't hurt my feet" than "they look great". When I go to Pebble Beach (which is once every 5 years or so) I wear about the same thing, lay on the grass and look at the under-side of the cars, and take pictures of the men wearing white pants. Well, I don't actually photograph them but I realize how horrified they might be at what I'm wearing, just as I am horrified at what they are wearing.
...I guess I _did_ dress properly for the Obama presidential inaugural ball - the black tux and uncomfortable shoes and all that. But that was for them, not for me....
