Needed: Pictures of hood hinges under the fenders
« on: October 27, 2015, 13:54:07 »
Does anyone have pictures of how hood hinges are bolted to the inner fenders?
My inner fenders are pretty bad and someone previously welded the hinges, so I am trying to restore it back to original and need a few pictures if possible.

Apparently there is some sort of plate on the inner fender which the hinge is bolting onto? My car only has cut-out slots for the bolts to go through.
An original picture would be appreciated, both from under the fender and the engine bay, with hinge taken off.

Thanks in advance.

Mine didn't have any kind of plate, just holes and slots in the fender, and there were large J-nuts through the slot with the bolt going through the hole into the J-nut.

Hardly Stick, I took them of my car last night!

You are welcome though....

These are the J-nuts/cage nuts that were in the body. one of mine was damaged I think so I need to get more, I am hoping MB do them or I can find some the same.

I believe the same nuts are used for the seat rear mounting points and also the soft top lid hinge?

I'll have to take a look, I need the ones for the seats and the bolts too.

It was my sarcastic attempt at humour. The reference photos in the Dropbox link are mine, sorry to appear hostile!

Not at all, I hadn't seen the drop box ones, they are some interesting pictures, I wish my shell was in that good a condition.

I notice the hood supports that Cab turbo is asking about are completely different on that car to my car.
