Arabesque was on TCM tonight.   I had never seen it before and it was fun to see Gregory Peck and Sophia Loren racing around London in a Bright Red 230SL!   Good Movie!

After drooling over Sophia Loren for most of the movie the red 230 SL took over the drooling.  I vowed then, that if I ever came close to affording one it was mine.  The opportunity came in August 1967 when, stationed in Germany, I went into the Mercedes dealer in Bitburg and bought a signal red 250 SL which is still in my garage.

Hello Jim, I enjoyed reading your story in the Pagoda Notes a few years back. If you read my "story" you see that I first sat in one at a Mercedes dealer in Garmisch-Partenkirchen back in '65. It wasn't long after I got home that there was one in my garage too (later replaced by my 280SL). Loved the Pagoda then and still do today. I guess there are not too many of us original owners around anymore. We sure were smart to hold on to these cars for all these years though weren't we

I looked around your posts trying to figure out what kind of condition you car is in.
Being an original owner is quite special.
Can you tell us what condition your car is in now?
