Flashers/signal lights

All, what would cause the flashers not to work when switch is activated? signal lights work fine. I replaced the flasher relay six prong switch but still the flashers will not work. Is there a second flasher relay switch on a 69 280sl?

Did U check the auxiliary fuse box; small square brown box with knurled screw.
It controls some lighting functions

Catjim, Have a look at this thread. There are multiple ways the hazard and turn signals can be wired. All depends on year and if it was a US or Euro model. Lot of variables. Looking at the wiring diagram there is a seperate relay or flasher. It may or may not involve the hazards. No matter the hazards are fed from fuse #1. Always powered.

Kayvan, and Tyler I will look at both once I get home from work. The bracket is already down from putting in the capillary tube so I should be able to see the wiring and see if there is a second relay switch. Thanks for the follow-up

Kayvan, I think he is going after the hazard-flashers. He mentioned the signals and the 6 prong switch (hazard switch)
