Chrome-plated instruments frames
« on: March 06, 2016, 15:58:29 »

This a photo of my 280SL, since i bought it some years ago i couldn't be able to find spare frames for the dashboard instruments. They were ruined by the previous owner and i really hate to see those damaged. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance!

Authentic classics sells these new, along with the gaskets if you need them as well.

The prices are eye watering.  Just noticed that the price for the glass for the clocks is $68 dollars. On the 69 im working on the Speedo had cracked glass. My brother took the old glass to a local glass shop and they cut a piece and drilled the small hole for $15 bucks. It looks perfect so its worth doing that instead of $68 dollars.

Plenty of the usual suppliers in Germany sell the chrome surround but fitting them nicely takes a bit of practice.
The glass, as others have said, can be made by any local glazier.
