My friend George has been going through his garage which is filled with 60's and 70's Mercedes Benz parts. He asked me what this part was? (see attached).

I do not have the answer for him.  :o

I'm sure what it is or even if it is from a Mercedes or german car.  ???

Can anyone identify this mystery part? And if its not Mercedes part please forgive me for posting the question here  :P

Cheers  :D

It looks like an underdash cover, based on the shape and the lips where the screw holes are. As to the model, to answer is tricky. Any stamps, writing or stickers o it?

That looong lip on the top left is throwing me off. Everything else speaks Mercedes-Benz.

Part of it looks like the panel on the B-pillar. Perhaps a home made one?
This panel is also a bit wider on very early 230SL.

I've worked on just about every model MB from 170S to 560SL and it doesn't look like a MB part I've ever seen. If it was, it would very likely have a part number on it.
