I am in the process of painting two cars. a 1969 and 1970 SL.
I have already prepared the 69 for first coat of Epoxy. Got the panels probably 99% straight. As I plan to paint both on the same day, I am now working on getting the dents out of the 1970 and am looking at the rear end of each with all bumpers and trim removed. The 1970 has different tail lights. I notice a crease on the 1970 just bellow the taillights but on the 69 there is no crease its all smooth. Im thinking the 1970 was hit and the crease was caused by the bumpers but it looks so perfect and symmetrical that im not sure. Should I remove the crease or is this a difference from 1969 and 1970 due to tail light changes? If anyone has a picture of the rear end with no trim installed please post or direct me to a link. I plan to paint on Sunday.
thanks Pinder.
