Metal Dash Paint
« on: May 17, 2016, 22:27:51 »
I have a '71 280SL and expect to have it repainted sometime next year to address a few dings, bubbles, etc. The car is in its original (if boring) 050 White.  The car was likely repainted along the way and isn't awful, but the dash is actually in a more used, original state. When I get the body done, I'd like to refresh the dash as well.  Does one use the exact same paint, with the same finish, on the dash as on the body? It may be due to age, or angle or lighting, but the dash paint looks less "white" than the exterior.

Thanks.

Yes dash is the same color.  There are some excellent tips on paint colors in this site under the technical part about paint.  If you are serious you will want to make sure that other areas are painted correctly like the wheel wells, the undercarriage, the trunk lid, etc.
