I had a 220SEb Cab in once with a 6.3 installed. It even had the air suspension system which you pretty much need with the weight of that big engine.

At least it went fast in a straight line - not much for corners though! :o

As I know the 6,3 has a bigger tunnel for the automatic.

Although I am a purist I admit it is a marvelous idea.
Keep us posted if the idea moves forward.

I had a W111 Coupe fitted with a 6.9 M100 engine. The car was very nose heavy. This is why I went with M117 alloy blocks after that. Easier to fit, more power, similar torque, lighter and better balanced car. Keep the rear end though, you will need that ratio with a bigger engine.

There was a prototype 6.3 Coupe but it was too ugly to replace the low grille W111.
