Clutch bearing alternative to MB?

I'va just had my 4 speed trans. rebuilt by Dan Caron after a catastrophic failure and I'm really looking forward to putting it back in the car.

I want to replace my throw-out bearing, AKA clutch bearing, but my local MB dealer asks 288$ for what must be a gold plated part.

Original is made by FAG and is #510823

I know Timken has one, # 1573 for 30$

Anyone has experience with a bearing different than the original MB one?

If so, brand and part # would be great.

Reminds me of a person I knew in Salem, Indiana, who bought a Mercedes truck before most anyone else had heard of them.  Some bearing went out and he ordered it from the Mercedes dealer in Louisville, KY.  A few weeks later, he received the bearing.  It was made in the USA at a factory about 5 miles from his house.

I should have specified I'm based in Canada. That was in CDN $. But at 150 US$, once we add shipping and customs, it comes out to almost the same as the dealers retail here in Canada.
That'S why I'm looking for an alternative to the MB part.

Keep in mind you a talking about a bearing that is being asked to support a couple hundred pounds max and then only asked to do it with the clutch in.

I would have no problem with either SKF or FAG bearings in that application.  Sachs makes most of the clutches in Europe so if you can find a Sachs bearing that would probably be the best.
