Color Combinations on Data Card vs Technical Manual

My Pagoda is a 1967 250 SL that was originally shipped to Italy, and somehow made its way to the US and into my hands.  I have three questions for you experts regarding our “Data Cards” and the Pagoda Group technical manual:

1)   Information from both my data card and the technical manual is shown below.  My car has the interior code “122” for light red MB Tex along with code “180” for silver metallic paint and code “720” for a black soft top.  My car seems to be equipped with the colors indicated on the data card.

However,  the information contained in the technical manual indicates the code “122” light red interior was not supplied with the code “180” silver metallic body and hard top paint.  Notice, however, that code “117” …. also a red interior…. was provided with code “180” silver metallic paint.

Anyone care to speculate why the technical manual does not show my specific color combination having been provided?  I’m Just curious.

From my data card:
180- Exterior Paint on body and hardtop;  Silver Grey Metallic
122- Interior Trim, Light Red 
720- Folding top fabric, Black

Info from the Technical Manual:

Note:  Code "872" seems to represent black fabric soft top


2)   My car has what I call the “Kinder seat”, meaning the rear seat is sideways in the car.  However my data card does not show the code “565” for the seat being provided from the factory. 

Do you guys with “Kinder seats” have the code “565” on your data card?  Should I conclude the “Kinder seat” was installed after the car was delivered?

3)   In like manner, my data card does not show any code for the car having been equipped with a Becker radio from the factory.  Not sure what the radio is, but it does not say “Becker” on the front.  Again, should I conclude my car was not delivered with a Becker radio from the factory?

These are "recommended" colour combinations. Buyers could deviate from them.

Very likely.

Not sure what the radio is, but it does not say “Becker” on the front.  Again, should I conclude my car was not delivered with a Becker radio from the factory?

Is it a Blaupunkt? Is it a period radio at all? Very likely to have been a dealer installed option then.

Regarding the kinder seat: Remove it and look to see if a 4 digit number is there (approximately 4 inch tall hand written numbers). If this number does not match the last four digits of your body number (found on body number plate) then, most probably, it was not original to your car. If the number matches, then I would say there is an omission from your data card..... IMHO...

This is not quite so.
Last part of Body number (Aufbau No) are stamped in metal in some positions on the car.

Written with crayon behind panels, on seat frame etc. are last part (digits) of Production number (Produktions No). See pic attached

Thanks, Peter, Iconic, and mbzse, for your comments on the forum and also Ian for your personal message.

I have not pulled the radio yet to see the manufacturer.  From the looks (as compared with older Blaupunkts), I am just guessing it is a Blaupunkt.  It’s close to being “period correct” since it was in the car when I purchased it in 1983.

Now the Kinder Seat.  I removed the floor panel behind the driver and there is no hand written numbers on the back side.  I have not pulled the Kinder Seat to see if it has markings on the back side.  I’m familiar with the stampings on the hood, hard top, soft top, etc. which all match.

Lastly, the color codes on interior and exterior.  It is interesting that buyers could mis-match the various colors to their own liking.  Does anyone else have the code 122 light red interior with code 180 metallic silver body and hard top?  Please say “NO” so I can dream about having the only Pagoda in the world with that particular color combination.    Ha    Ha  ha!!
