Tachometer seals
« on: January 06, 2017, 15:42:15 »
Dear Pagoda enthusiasts, my 230SL is a very low mileage 1966 example so most repairs I've had to perform were related to leaking joints, disintegrated bushings and hardened suspension rubbers.

The latest issue is oil leaking from the tachometer bushing, which would seem an easy fix were it not that seals A1202610080 and A6210500506 are apparently no longer available (or nearly impossible to find).

Has anyone been able to find replacement parts and, if so, were?

Help is, as always, much appreciated.

Thanks.  I'll call them on Monday.  SLS makes no difference between the different engines, however.  Are the seals the same for the M127, M129, and M130 engines?

Hi Tempur,
Yes, I am sure.  These engines are very much the same.

Oil leaking from the tack cable fitting may be an indication of excess crank case pressure. Check your valve cover vent pipe for blockage.
